Steve Hollingworth

Steve Hollingworth

President

Steve has more than 26 years of extensive experience in international development. He has served as a Program Officer in Lesotho, advanced to be a Deputy Country Director in Bolivia, and then became Country Director in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India where he developed microfinance and livelihood programs for very poor people when he worked for CARE, a humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. He also led programs that addressed maternal and child health, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and gender equity. While in Northern Afghanistan, he led emergency response programs before becoming Chief Operating Officer at CARE's Atlanta headquarters in 2007, where he had direct line-management responsibility for global operations, fundraising and programs in a variety of fields, including micro-enterprise and microfinance, civil society strengthening, local capacity building, local governance and emergency relief and rehabilitation.Steve holds a B.A. in Economics from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and an M.A. in Economics from the Victoria University of Manchester in Manchester, England.

Kathleen E. Stack

Kathleen Stack

Vice President, Africa & Asia

Kathleen has over 30 years of experience in international development. She joined Freedom from Hunger in 1984 and has held a number of senior positions. She now leads strategic and business planning and program and resource development. Kathleen was co-creator of the Credit with Education methodology and has authored manuals, guidelines and articles on Credit with Education, on the integration of microfinance with credit unions, and on business and financial education. She served on the steering committee of the Global Financial Education Program and was a founder of the Small Enterprise Education and Promotion (SEEP) Network. Before joining Freedom from Hunger, Kathleen served with Peace Corps in Mali and USAID and Plan International in Burkina Faso. She has a Masters degree in international administration (School for International Training Graduate Institute) and a BA in psychology (Clark University), and she speaks French.

Lisa Kuhn Fraioli

Lisa Kuhn Fraioli

Vice President, Latin America

Lisa has over 11 years experience in microfinance and 15 in Latin America. She joined Freedom from Hunger in 2005 as Technical Advisor in Microfinance, providing technical assistance and training to microfinance organizations throughout Latin America. Since then she has launched offices in Mexico, Peru and Ecuador and expanded partnerships in the region from eight to over fifty. Currently, Lisa supervises all programmatic activity in Latin America. She also serves on the steering committees of the Imp-Act Consortium and the Latin American Network for Gender Justice in Economic Development. Before joining Freedom from Hunger, Lisa worked as a gender and microfinance specialist for Opportunity International, specializing in product design and research. She has also worked for FINCA International. She has an M.S. in Foreign Service (Georgetown University) and a B.A. in Romance Languages and Latin American Relations (DePauw University). She speaks Spanish and French.

Ron Forrest

Ron Forrest

Vice President, Operations

Ron is a CPA with over 20 years experience in public accounting, agriculture/food manufacturing, non-profit health services, and commercial real estate development. He now oversees all financial and risk management for Freedom from Hunger. Before joining Freedom from Hunger in 2009, Ron worked for Price Waterhouse in Sacramento, CA as well as Brisbane, Australia. His agriculture/food manufacturing experience was gained in both Australia and Hawaii with a cookie and macadamia nut food company. More recently, Ron was operations manager for BloodSource in Sacramento and financial manager for the Sacramento area commercial real estate developer, Granite Bay Ventures, LLC. He has extensive experience in dealing with lending institutions and private placement offerings to secure commercial real estate development loans as well as acquisition and operational loans. Ron graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State University, Sacramento with a BS in business administration accountancy.
