Financing a Better Future
Chronic hunger devastates families, large communities, even entire countries, and is passed on from generation to generation.
Imagine running a company or building a business without the basic skills you were taught in school. For our women, education is not only the key to their success... it's the key to their survival.
Credit with Education: breaking the cycle of poverty
When women in developing countries gather at one of Freedom from Hunger's weekly Credit with Education meetings, they learn about nutrition, health, business, and family planning – the basic skills that empower women to work for a better future.
These meetings are a part of a larger plan to break the cycle of poverty. When women in developing countries receive microloans made possible by Freedom from Hunger, they also receive the education they need to make their businesses thrive. No longer forced to scrape together whatever money they can earn, women generate a regular income, along with a new sense of accomplishment and self-esteem.
Women in developing countries are hardworking and eager to make life better for themselves and their families. Freedom from Hunger ensures they have the resources to do just that.
